Scavenger Hunt

The Scavenger Hunt was originally created by Ronette Wesson, a teacher at Sassarini Elementary School in Sonoma, and Kid Scoop News Teacher Liaison. Our Teacher Engagement Coordinator, Katherine Llodrá, now crafts this monthly one-page student activity for teachers to share with their classroom. This sets up a “reading with a purpose” game to lead children through the pages of Kid Scoop News each month.

Jennifer Uken, 1st grade teacher, Albert F. Biella Elementary

I teach First Grade at a Title 1 school and my students absolutely LOVE Kids Scoop News! They look forward to receiving their newspaper every month. As a teacher I love seeing them so excited about reading and am thrilled the editors include content at various reading levels so there is something for everyone! My kiddos love completing the mazes and puzzles. Parents have reported it being a fun activity to do with their children. We are all so grateful to receive this wonderful resource free of cost! Thank you so much to all the sponsors for giving my students this incredible reading opportunity!
