Why is sugar bad for kids?
ANSWER: Sugar is a big part of what causes tooth decay. But that’s not all!
Eating sugary food causes kids to gain weight and it can make kids more likely to get sick.
How? Our blood has red and white blood cells. You can’t see the white blood cells with your naked eye, but they are working hard to keep you well. White blood cells are like soldiers that fight off germs and bacteria that can make us sick. Sugar weakens and even causes your white blood cells to disappear. Without white blood cells you are more likely to get sick.
Remember you are already sweet enough!
