Helping Children Talk About the Fires and their Fears

Dear Teachers, Parents and Grandparents,

I know you are concerned about how the trauma of the North Bay fires are impacting the children in your lives.

For North Bay children, these fires will be a defining moment. All too many children will experience emotional trauma for a long time to come. Kid Scoop News is in unique position to get meaningful, educational materials to our schools and families right away.

After some research and discussion with a therapist we came up with two pages that are in the November issue of Kid Scoop News. We are also making these available here as PDF files for you to download and reproduce with your students and/or children.
