“My students look forward to every magazine and the conversations in the classroom the articles evoke is magical! There are so many relatable stories and every month there are many who love seeing the creativity of the drawing contests. My students are always so inspired by seeing their name and art in print! What joy it brings them! The shared reading experiences we gain from the monthly magazines are priceless and the magazines are also so engaging for all age groups! Thank you for providing this amazing resource to all readers!”
– Kirstin McMullen, 4th Grade Teacher, Petaluma
“Kid Scoop News is something the whole class looks forward to receiving every month. It engages so many readers and many different learning styles. Thank you for enabling us to receive Kid Scoop News!”
– Mrs. Joanie Blechel, Forestville Elementary, Fifth Grade, Forestville
Kid Scoop News is a great way for students to interact with text that is not from the pages of a book or online. It is engaging and informative of the world outside our classroom.
“Excellent way to provide literature in the home that my students can share.”
“My students and I look forward to our new edition of Kid Scoop News each month! Thank you for providing this rich resource to my students who have limited reading material at their reading level in their homes.”
“Our second graders love the Kid Scoop News. They love to read it together at school and enjoy taking it home to share with their families. Many of my students like to read it to their younger siblings.”
“My students love receiving their very own newspaper. They have a sense of maturity because they can ‘read the paper’ like they see adults do. The topics are engaging and geared to their age level and it makes reading less intimidating. Even struggling readers make attempts to read, because it looks fun. … All in all, Kid Scoop News is one of the best reading sources I have in my class and I love having it in my class every year!”
“Kids enjoy it as reward for finishing work, but as the teacher I know it is a learning tool.”
“This publication provides another style of reading that is engaging and fun. It is different from the ‘formal’ guided reading we do, and even more relaxed than ‘free’ reading time. The students are able to find things that are interesting to them.”
Our students and teachers love the Kid Scoop News publication. We are using it for all of our elementary schools’ grades K-4. This newspaper is a fun and engaging activity that our teachers use to teach science, reading and social studies. Our students have started looking forward to it each month and we are excited to continue this partnership.
